Butler's Pantry
The Butler's Pantry connected the formal dining room to the kitchen and breakfast room. This room served as a staging area where food was laid out prior to serving. The household staff, including the butler, the cook, and various maids worked tirelessly to ensure that special events ran smoothly. The butler's pantry was remolded in 1912. This room contains a dish warmer to keep hot foods warm before serving, a separate sink, and a refrigerator installed in 1938. There was once an icebox where the refrigerator is now. Ice deliveries were made through a whole in the wall at the back porch, which connected to the ice box.
